Our 2 – 2 1/2 Years room provides more challenging activities to help support your child’s development needs. The children will be encouraged to join in a range of independent activities. At this age children will start to need to develop their concentration skills to help with their furture learning structure at school, so they will be supported in sitting in small groups for circle time, story time and song time to help with this.
Through extended activities, children will begin early literacy and numeracy skills with play structured towards counting and alphabet fun. These activities also encourage children to develop social skills by sharing and taking turns.
We also nurture opportunities for them to exercise making choices. Whether it’s choosing their snacks or their next activity, by actively engaging them in the thought processes here it helps them to become more independent and confident either during solo play or around others.
